Burnt Toast : So from what I can tell, the drivers needed depend on the what hyperv version you are using.

For example, on my WIN10 desktop (HyperV v10), I setup a hypver XP machine: fresh installed XP x64 SP1, then upgraded to SP2 with ISO from microsoft. On this version, there is no option to pass the device the integration disk via the Action sub menu (maybe just my instance?). I snagged the HypverV Integration 6.2 x64 iso from online, from what I read you should be able to locate this file in you own directory in Sys32, but didn't find it so i looked online. But after mounting the drive, I went into device manager in the VM, and updated the drivers for the missing device and ticking the check floppy/disk and pointing it to the mounted disk. I had full driver support minus the integration services.

BUT this was the preliminary round. I have a physical machine with Windows Server 2012 R2 x64 installed. I will come back and reply with the HyperV version but on this one, I setup the XP machine, once again XP x64 SP1, then upgraded to SP2. In this version of HyperV, the action sub menu does actually have the send Integration Service to machine and it installed the services. On this version of hyperv I also didnt have mouse support until the integration services were installed. After that there was still 2 devices that were unknown and I pushed the 6.2 Integration disk i downloaded earlier to it, searched for the missing drivers there and my install was complete with drivers.

You should have a fully functional XP vm at this point.

XP supports RDP 7.0 on SP3, so unfortunately x64 not supported. But regardless, if they just RDP into it instead of using the HyperV manager the remote session should have audio so long the box was ticked before initiating the connection. Cant say if it works on base XP, but SP2 x64 and SP3x86 use audio on RDP :)
ABucket (GD) : The sound wont work becuase hyper v doesnt emulate a sound card. But if you get a remote desktop and virtual audio cable (if there are any remote desktop apps for xp) it should work
